CCC WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott baseball team swept the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards as Matt Bald (DePere, Wisc.) was named Player of the Week, Kevin Gould (Rollinsford, N.H.) was picked as Pitcher of the Week, and Ryan Prosser (Holden, Mass.) earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

Bald was a force at the plate in the Gulls' 5-0 week, as he batted .591 (13-for-22) with a double, a triple, eight RBI, six runs scored and four stolen bases. While hitting safely in all five games, Bald went 4-for-4 in a 13-2 victory over Gordon and 7-for-11 in a doubleheader sweep of Salve Regina, including a 5-for-6 showing in the nightcap. Bald, who tallied a .625 on-base percentage and a .727 slugging percentage for the week, was a stellar 11-for-15 in CCC play, good for a .733 batting average.

Gould stymied the CCC squad with the highest overall batting average, tossing a three-hit shutout against Salve Regina in a critical conference series. In nine scoreless innings of work, Gould scattered just three singles and allowed just one opposing runner to reach second base. He walked just two and matched his career high with 11 strikeouts. In the 6-0 Gulls' victory, Gould retired the side in order three times and posted at least one strikeout in every inning.

Prosser hit safely in four of five games, helping the Gulls to an unblemished 5-0 weekly record. On the week, Prosser batted .353 (6-for-17)  with one double, one RBI, three stolen bases and five runs scored, while posting a solid .450 on-base percentage and a .412 slugging percentage.  Prosser registered a pair of two-hit games, accomplishing the feat in a 13-2 victory over Gordon and in a 3-1 win over regional power St. Joseph's of Maine.
