2019 Endicott Baseball Season Preview

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott baseball team will open up its 2019 season this weekend with a three-game set against Trinity (Tex.) from February 22-24, on the road. Here's a preview of the upcoming season.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Gulls, who have won 25 or more games for nine straight seasons, will look to return to championship form in 2019 behind several All-Conference selections including Will Bryant (Cumberland, Maine), Alexander Mandrus (Acton, Mass.), and Dan Cacciola (Saugus, Mass.).
  • Graduate student Victor Molle (Peabody, Mass.) and seniors Liam Burke (Westwood, Mass.), Zachary Sultar (South Windsor, Conn.), Matt Bald (De Pere, Wisc.), Kyle Wollman (East Berlin, Conn.), Kevin Gould (Rollinsford, N.H.), Bryant and Cacciola will also be tasked with leading the squad in a variety of ways throughout the season.
  • Gould and Nickolas Perkins (Nashua, N.H.) were chosen to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper D3 Players To Watch List earlier this year.
  • Last season, Endicott ranked No. 17 in double plays (43) and double plays per game (18), nationally.
  • The Gulls also ranked No. 17 in stolen bases (106) among all NCAA Division III programs in the country.

GAMES TO WATCH

  • First scheduled home game of the season: February 27 vs. Salem State at 3:30 PM
  • Spring Break Trip: March 17 to March 23 (eight games total, conference opener vs. Nichols, 3/23, 11 AM, 2 PM)
  • First home game after Spring Break Trip: March 27 vs. Southern Maine at 3:30 PM
  • April 2: home game versus UMass Boston, last year's NCAA New England Regional Championship finalist, at 3:30 PM
  • April 27: home doubleheader versus last year's CCC Champion, Western New England, at 12 / 3 PM
