Women’s Tennis Falls To No. 19 Regionally Ranked Bates, 7-2

LEWISTON, Maine — The Endicott women's tennis team lost to No. 19 regionally ranked Bates, 7-2, in non-conference action on Sunday evening at the Wallach Tennis Center.

Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) was a double-winner on the day behind victories at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-3) and No. 1 doubles (8-6) alongside teammate Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.)

"Our level today was much higher than our last match. We did a lot on our terms, and our offense put a lot of pressure on our opponents today," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "This was a good barometer for us to see how we stack up against regionally ranked competition."

  • Uyeda is 2-1 at No. 2 singles this season.
  • Guster and Uyeda are 9-3 at No. 1 doubles.
  • Overall, Guster and Uyeda both have a 12-5 record at doubles among multiple pairings.
