Women's Tennis Places Five On CCC All-Conference List

CCC RELEASE 

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team placed five student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference list, the league announced earlier today.

Headlining the list for the Gulls was Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.) who earned First Team honors in singles and doubles.

Joining Guster on the All-Conference singles list was Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) and Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.). Hoover was named to the Second Team while Berler and Uydea were awarded Third Team honors, respectively.

As for the All-Conference doubles list, Guster received accolades with Uyeda, while Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) and Hoover were both awarded Second Team All-CCC honors.  


Lejla Guster | Fr. | All-CCC First Team Singles | Wethersfield, Conn.

The freshman phenom dominated CCC regular season play at the No. 2 spot with a perfect 3-0 record (only lost eight games in those matches). Guster's signature win came over Suffolk with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.   

Justine Hoover | Sr. | All-CCC Second Team Singles | Wallingford, Conn.

The four-time All-CCC singles honoree posted a 3-1 record at the No. 1 position in conference play. Her only loss was a hard-fought 3-6, 6-3, 12-14 decision at the hands of Sarah Mezini of Suffolk, who was awarded All-CCC First team honors. 

Olivia Berler | Jr. | All-CCC Third Team Singles | Marstons Mills, Mass.

Berler went undefeated in conference matches highlighted by a convincing win at No. 2 singles versus Gordon, allowing her to secure her second career all-conference record.  

Ripley Uyeda | Fr. | All-CCC Third Team Singles | Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Uyeda earned her first All-CCC nod behind a 1-0 showing in CCC action for the Gulls.  


Lejla Guster / Ripley Uyeda  |  All-CCC First Team Doubles 

Guster and Uyeda posted a 2-1 record in CCC play at the No. 1 doubles spot for Endicott. Their highlight win came against Nichols where they breezed to an 8-0 victory.


Shelby Henry / Justine Hoover  | All-CCC Second Team Doubles 

Henry and Hoover compiled a 2-0 record at No. 2 doubles for the Gulls. Their marquee win was an 8-1 triumph over Salve Regina.  


WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (7-4) will host No. 4 Gordon or No. 5 Salve Regina in the CCC Semifinals on Thursday, October 21.
