Women's Tennis Sweeps UMass Boston, 9-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team blanked UMass Boston, 9-0, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at the South Campus Courts.

The Gulls swept doubles and never looked back. 

The doubles pairings included Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) / Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) at No. 1 (8-6), Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) / Olivia Martinelli (Coral Springs, Fla.) at No. 2 (8-1), and Angelina Ciardi (New Fairfield, Conn.) / Ana Mar Molina (Sachse, Texas) at No. 3 (8-0). 

From there, Guster and Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) clinched the match in singles at No. 1 and No. 2 with scores of 7-5, 6-1, and 6-1, 6-0, respectively.

"At times we fought ourselves a bit and struggled to generate at our own pace", said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "If we spend more time focusing on the controllables, we will reach our potential as a team. Hopefully, we learned a lot from today."

  • This match served as the first meeting between the two schools in program history. 
  • Endicott is riding a six-match winning streak.
  • The Gulls are 7-2 at The Nest this year.

Endicott (13-4) travels to Trinity (Conn.), Wednesday, April 27th at 3 PM. UMass Boston's (8-7) regular season comes to an end.
