Couchot Named CCC Rookie of the Week

CCC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR THE WEEK OF OCT. 24 - OCT. 30

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Freshman forward Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week for his efforts during the week of Oct. 24- Oct. 30, as announced today by the conference office.

Couchot, a three-time CCC Rookie of the Week, tallied two goals and two assists on the week as the top-seeded Gulls advanced to the CCC Semifinals. In the team's 1-0 victory at Gordon to wrap up the regular-season and earn the conference's top seed heading into the playoffs, Couchot picked up his third assist of the season.

In the Gulls' CCC Quarterfinals matchup against No. 8 Eastern Nazarene, Couchot netted a pair of goals and added an assist. It was the first time this season that Couchot recorded at least one goal and one assist in the same match and set a new career single-game high with five points (two goals, one assists).

Couchot, the 2016 CCC Rookie of the Year, leads the team with 10 goals and four assists (24) on the season and now ranks third in the conference in goals scored.

The Gulls return to action on Wednesday, November 2 as top-seeded Endicott hosts fourth-seeded Western New England in the CCC Semifinals at 4:00 p.m.
