Endicott Rolls Past Eastern Nazarene, 4-0

QUINCY, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team rolled past host Eastern Nazarene, 4-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Gulls scored a season-high four times, featuring markers from three student-athletes.

Junior forward Diego Maillo (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) potted his third goal of the season just 11:05 minutes into the first half as he collected a loose ball in the box.

Freshman forward Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) scored his first of two goals on the night on a header as junior forward Dario Neukom (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) picked up his first career assist to give the Gulls a 2-0 lead in the 18th minute.

Couchot then added his team-leading fifth goal of the season (unassisted) as the Gulls padded their lead, 3-0, in the 59th minute.

Junior back Ryan Cohane (Easton, Conn.) tallied his first goal of the season as he headed in freshman midfielder Jesse Martinez's (Walpole, Mass.) free kick in the 77th minute to round out the scoring for Endicott.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Tonight's match saw the Gulls improve to 17-1-1 all-time against Eastern Nazarene with the lone loss coming back in 2007.
  • The Gulls have outscored the Lions, 51-8, in the series and earned their 13th shutout victory in 19 meetings.
  • The Gulls out-shot Eastern Nazarene, 15-6, including a 9-0 margin on goal.
  • Senior goalkeeper Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, Conn.) did not face any shots for the second time this season as he improved to 6-3-2 (3-1-0 CCC) on the season and posted his sixth clean sheet.
  • Neukom and Martinez each notched their first career assists.
  • Couchot scored twice in a single match for the first time in his career.
  • The Gulls are now 2-1-2 on the road this season with a 1-1 conference record in away matches.

FOR THE FOES

  • Senior goalkeeper Jameson MacFarland (Jacksonville, Fla.) made five saves for the Lions as he fell to 4-4-0 on the season.

  • The Gulls won last season's meeting, 3-0, on Homecoming Saturday  in Beverly, Mass. on 10/03/15.
