SPRINGFIELD, Mass. For the second-straight season, the Endicott men's soccer team clinched the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) regular-season title and therefore earned the top seed in the upcoming conference postseason tournament, as announced today by the conference.

THE MATCHUP: The Gulls, who are 11-5-2 overall, will host eighth-seeded Eastern Nazarene on Saturday, October 29 at 4:30 p.m., after the Lions finished 2-7-0 in CCC play and 6-10-2 overall. The Gulls defeated the Lions, 4-0, on October 4th in the regular-season matchup between the two squads. Freshman forward Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) scored twice as the Gulls registered a season-high four goals.

POSTSEASON HISTORY: The Gulls have now qualified for the conference tournament in the past seven consecutive years, and 16 of the 22 years since Endicott became NCAA Division III varsity program. Endicott will be in search of its first-ever CCC Title and first under sixth-year head coach Joe Calabrese whose program reached the title match last season.

The Gulls finished the regular season on a three-match win streak tying the season-high. The 2016 squad saw senior goalkeeper Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, Conn.) become the program's career shutouts and wins leader this season. The Gulls are led in scoring by Couchot's 19 points (eight goals, three assists). 10 of the Gulls' 11 victories this season to date have been shutouts.

NO. 8 EASTERN NAZARENE (6-10-2, 2-7-0 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE

A dramatic 1-0 double-overtime win against Curry on Senior Night snapped a seven-match losing streak and propelled the Lions into the postseason, as Eastern Nazarene is making its first playoff appearance since 2012. The Lions are led in scoring by senior forward David Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Andrew Nelson (Burtonsville, Md.) with 12 points apiece. Nelson also ranks second in the conference with eight assists.

WHAT'S AT STAKE: The winner will advance to the conference semifinals on Wednesday, November 2 at the highest remaining seeds, while the championship will be played on Saturday, November 5 at a site and time to be determined. The CCC Tournament champion will receive the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA DIII Men's Soccer Championship.
