Men's Soccer Slated 2nd in CCC Preseason Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. With just over a week remaining before the 2016 season gets underway, the Endicott men's soccer team was slated second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason coaches' poll as announced today by the conference office.

Endicott, last season's regular-season champion, received 90 points and three first place votes heading into the 2016 season after posting a 16-3-4 record overall in 2015, which included an 8-0-1 showing in conference games.

Gordon College, the defending CCC Champions, was picked to finish first in the poll as the Fighting Scots claimed first place votes from six out of the 10 conference head coaches for 94 total points. Wentworth earned third place with 76 points and the remaining first place vote, while Western New England completed the top four with 67 points.

Salve Regina ranked No. 5 on the poll with 60 points and Roger Williams checked in at No. 6 with 59 oints. Nichols was positioned seventh overall (41 points), while Curry (30 points), University of New England (19 points) and Eastern Nazarene (17 points) rounded out the conference voting.

Endicott kicks off the 2016 campaign on Friday, September 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Hempstead Stadium against Carthage College in the North Shore Invitational.
