Four Gulls Earn NFHCA All-Region Honors

2023 NFHCA ALL-REGION TEAMS | GULLS' ALL-REGION HISTORY

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athletes Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.)Meghan Lehouiller (Colchester, Vt.)Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.), and Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.) have all earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region accolades.

Dengler, Lehouiller, and Swanson were all named to the NCAA Division III Region I First Team, while Hicks represented the Gulls on the Second Team, respectively.

The three NFHCA First Team honorees tie a program record and the four all-region members collectively are second in program history behind last season's five all-region honorees.


FIRST TEAM ALL-REGION

MADDY DENGLER | SO. | F | WINCHESTER, MASS.

For the first time in her career, Dengler has received all-region honors. This fall, Dengler posted 14 goals and six assists for 34 points after starting all 21 games for the No. 25 Gulls. Her 14 goals ranked second on the team and third in the conference, while her new career-high points total was positioned third in the conference. Twice during the season, she had four consecutive games with a goal as she was named All-CCC First Team for the first time in her career. Dengler recorded multi-goal games twice during the season in victories over Salem State and Vermont State Castleton. The Winchester, Mass. native was part of an Endicott offense that finished first in the conference in assists per game, penalty corners per game, and points per game. 

MEGHAN LEHOUILLER | SR. | D | COLCHESTER, VT.

Lehouiller claimed her first career all-region selection after a season in which she helped the Gulls earn their sixth conference championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Colchester, Vt. native finished 17th nationally in defensive saves with eight including two against Roger Williams during the regular season. She also was part of a defensive unit that finished second in the conference in goals-against average with 1.56 as they recorded seven shutouts throughout the season. During the season, Lehouiller scored her second career and first game-winning goal in a victory over Worcester State. She also dished out a career-high four assists including one in the NCAA Tournament game versus No. 24 Ithaca. After the season, Lehouiller was named the CCC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-CCC. 

TORI SWANSON | SO. | M | FARMINGTON, CONN.

Swanson's first career all-region nod comes after her stellar 2023 season from the Gulls in which she was also named the CCC Co-Offensive Player of the Year and All-CCC First Team. In 20 games for the CCC champions posted 21 goals and five assists for 47 points. Her 1.05 goals per game was good for 18th nationally and the 21 goals were tied for ninth. She ranked second in the conference in goals and points per game with 2.35. The Farmington, Conn. had seven multi-goal games including her second career hat trick against Cabrini. In the CCC Championship game versus Roger Williams recorded the game-winning goal to secure Endicott's sixth conference championship and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Swanson was part of an Endicott offense that ranked nationally 7th in penalty corners per game (11.71), 11th in points per game (10.38), and 12th in scoring average (3.88).


SECOND TEAM ALL-REGION

REAGAN HICKS | SO. | M | BARNSTABLE, MASS.

Hicks earned her first career all-region award following a sophomore campaign in which she started all 21 games, scored 12 goals, and had seven assists for 31 points. During the season, Hicks recorded two multi-goal games including both tallies in Endicott's NCAA Tournament contest versus No. 24 Ithaca. Her seven assists ranked second on the team and helped Endicott's offense rank 10th nationally in assists per game with 2.57. Hicks had five games this season in which she recorded three or more points with her career high being set at five when she had two goals and an assist in a win over Nichols. The Barnstable, Mass. native finished in the top five in goals, assists, and points within the league as she received her first all-conference recognition, an All-CCC First Team selection.


YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 16-5 overall record and a 4-1 mark in league play en route to its sixth CCC Championship title.

The Gulls finished the season ranked No. 25 nationally and fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to No. 24 Ithaca College, 3-2 (OT).

Highlights from Endicott's season feature 16 wins which is tied for fifth in program history, including a 3-1 win in overtime against No. 12 nationally-ranked MIT.
