DeMattia, Swanson Claim CCC Weekly Awards

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athletes Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) and Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) have received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Swanson was named the CCC Offensive Player of the Week, while DeMattia garnered CCC Defensive Player of the Week accolades, respectively.

Swanson produced a career week to lead the Gulls to a 3-0 record against Salem State (8-0), No. 12 nationally ranked MIT (3-1), and WPI (6-0). The sophomore compiled 11 points (5g, 1a), highlighted by a pair of two-goal games against No. 12 MIT and WPI. She also added a goal and an assist versus Salem State on Monday.

DeMattia backstopped Endicott's undefeated week with 19 saves (.950) and a 0.36 goals against average (GAA) in 165 minutes of action. SHe made a career-high 12 saves against No. 12 MIT on Wednesday and turned in her first career shutout against WPI on Saturday behind six saves, which included a penalty stroke stop (WPI went 0-2 on penalty strokes in the contest).

This is DeMattia's second career CCC Defensive Player of the Week award (9/12/22) and Swanson's first career CCC weekly honor.
