Field Hockey Blanks WPI, 6-0

WORCESTER, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team defeated WPI, 6-0, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at H. Carr Field.

Endicott's strong offensive charge was led by Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) and Lindsay Bruns (Belfast, Maine) who both netted two tallies in the win.

Abby Antonelli (Worcester, Mass.) and Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) buried the other two goals for the Gulls.

Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) shined in net once again for the Gulls, as she made six saves including one penalty stroke stop to secure her first career shutout (3-1 record in 2023).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is now 3-0 in the all-time series against WPI.
  • This is the first time in Swanson's career that she has notched back-to-back multi-goal games.
  • This was Bruns' third multi-goal game of her Endicott career (9/24/22 and 11/03/22).
  • Antonelli's goal was the first of her career.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-1) takes on Wheation (Mass.) at home on Thursday at 7 PM. WPI (0-4) hosts Trinity on Tuesday, September 12 at 7 PM.
