SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team will compete in the 2014 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament as the #3 seed as it was announced by league commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Saturday evening. With the regular season conference schedule in the books, the Gulls will enter their CCC Semifinal match on Wednesday, November 5th at #2 Gordon (12-8, 9-3 CCC), at 4:00 p.m.

Endicott wrapped up their regular season this afternoon as they fell to cross-town rival, Gordon in a 2-1 thriller. With the loss, the two teams have the same record in conference play. Since Gordon has defeated the Gulls twice in their regular season meetings, the Fighting Scots have earned the higher seed. Endicott finished the regular season at 15-4 (9-3 CCC).

The rivals have quite the past in the conference tournament as they have faced off in the semifinal round for three straight years with Endicott claiming two of the three. Last season the Fighting Scots earned their first tournament victory over the Gulls in recent history and eventually claimed the 2013 title. Endicott will look to grasp their program's third title in four years.
