Larson Earns First Career Rookie of the Week Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has released their weekly awards and one member of the field hockey team earned honors. Freshman Olivia Larson (Cheshire, Conn.) tabbed her first career Rookie of the Week nod for her efforts in the Gulls 6-1 victory over CCC opponent Roger Williams last week.

Endicott currently sits at 11-2 (6-1 CCC) after they claimed their sixth victory in the conference over the weekend. Seven different Gulls tallied points in the victory while Larson recorded a career high four points off her two goals.

Coming in off the bench the rookie tallied her first goal of the game in the 18th minute after she received a feed from senior Amanda Glynn (Hampton, N.H.) and blasted the ball into the back of the net. Ten minutes later the forward recorded her second goal of the game off a crisp feed from senior Kathryn Walker (Middlebury, Conn.).

Larson currently has recorded three goals on the season with a .429 shot percentage in her eight games played. The freshman is the third Endicott rookie to earn the weekly honor, coming in behind teammates Brittany Bushey (Pittsford, Vt.) and sophomore Francheska Ventura (Lawrence, Mass.).

Larson and the Gulls will see action next tomorrow, October 14th as they host non-conference opponent Husson for a 4:00 p.m. matchup on North Field. The meeting will be the first between the two squads in program history.
