ECAC Field Hockey Players of the Week Release
Following her individual honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), freshman Brittany Bushey (Pittsford, Vt.) of the field hockey team has been named the ECAC DIII New England Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, announced on Wednesday. Endicott is now 5-1 (1-0 CCC) on the season, having defeated Westfield State 3-1 last night on North Field.
The honor is the second accolade of the week as Bushey was named CCC Rookie of the Week on Monday, following her strong play in two contests this past week that helped give the Blue and Green two victories. The rookie was able to rip a shot in a tough overtime battle with the Corsairs that came out in Endicott's favor. In the first conference matchup of the season Bushey came out of the gates firing as she tallied one goal on just two shots to help live the Gulls to a 3-0 shutout victory. Bushey is now tied for third on the team in goals (3) and is fifth on the team in points (6).
Endicott will see action next on Saturday, September 20th as they travel to CCC foe Western New England (WNE) for a 1:00 p.m. start. The Gulls return to the Nest on Tuesday for a pivotal match against the University of New England (UNE) at 7:00 p.m.
