Field Hockey Slated as #2 in New England East Region in Most Recent Poll

NCAA Division III Regional Rankings (Week of October 20, 2014)

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA has released the first week of regional rankings for Division III field hockey. Sitting at 13-3 the Endicott field hockey team has been slated as #2 in the New England East Region that houses six total teams. Voting for the regional rankings is comprised of selected coaches in each region.

The New England East regional rankings consists of two national ranked teams along with two Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) teams and three New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) squads.

Starting up the lineup is #1 Wellesley (14-2) who is currently ranked #10 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) weekly poll. Following Endicott in the #3 slot is MIT (10-2) who's only losses this season came from the Gulls and Wellesley. Sitting at #4 is Mount Holyoke (11-2) who is also listed in the NFHCA poll at #17 in the nation. Wrapping up the final two slots are #5 University of New England (11-5) and #6 Saint Joe's of Maine (12-2).

This is the first time since 2012 that the Blue and Green have been recognized as one of the top teams in the New England East region.
