ECAC Division III New England Field Hockey All-Star Teams Release

DANBURY, Conn.- For the first time in program history, the Endicott field hockey team has placed three players on the ECAC Division III New England All-Star Teams.  Seniors Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine) and Meghan Leary (Hampton Falls, N.H.) were joined by junior Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) as the program's first ever ECAC All-Stars.  For all three players, the honors add to an already historic season that saw the trio also receive NFCHA All-New England East and All-CCC honors.

In a season in which she was named NFHCA First Team All-American, 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA New England East All-Region First Team, CCC Offensive Player of the Year and All-CCC First Team, Sawchuck adds ECAC DIII New England Field Hockey All-Star First team honors as well.  Sawchuck ended her career as one of the most decorated players in program history. The forward holds all major offensive records while earning All-CCC honors four times and being the first player in the program to earn Rookie of the Year honors and capping off her career with an Offensive Player of the Year honor. Sawchuck finished the season leading in all offensive categories with 21 goals, 10 assists and 52 points.

For Leary, she was named to the ECAC DIII New England Field Hockey All-Star Second Team.  The All-Star nod adds to an impressive list for the four year starter as well as she also received 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA New England East All-New England East Second Team and All-CCC First Team honors.  Like Sawchuck, Leary was also a four time All-CCC recipient over her career, one that saw her play and start in almost every single game.

For Allen, the ECAC DIII New England Field Hockey All-Star Second Team honor caps and impressive first season in an Endicott uniform.  The junior joined Sawchuck on the 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA New England East All-Region First Team while also earning All-CCC First Team honors.  Allen was a key contributor to the success of the 2014 season as she led a strong midfield unit and finished second on the team in all offensive categories with 10 goals, nine assists and 29 points.
