BEVERLY, MA - Although the field hockey team (13-6) lost in the CCC semifinals to eventual champion New England College, 2-1, the Gulls earned the seventh seed in the ECAC Tournament and will travel to No. 2 Mt. Holyoke College (12-7) Wednesday (1:30 PM).
Junior netminder Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) has 11 shutouts and is among the Division III leaders in goals against average (0.92) and save percentage (.863).
Ashley Wallace (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills), the lone senior on the team, has a goal and four assists from her midfield position. Sophomore forward Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville Regional) and junior forward Lindsay Fallon (Southampton, NY/Southampton) are the Gulls' leading goal scorers, netting 13 and 12, respectively.
The Lyons feature a similarly potent one-two offensive punch. Jaimie Macari has amassed 22 goals and 46 points this season while Elizabeth Colby leads the team in assists (15) and has 29 points. Jennifer Wing has five shutouts and has started every game for Mt. Holyoke. Wing has surrendered 32 goals and owns a save percentage of .804.
