WENHAM, MA - New England College goaltender Jacqui Parker (Keene, NH) made 16 stops as the Pilgrims nipped Endicott College, 2-1, Saturday in a CCC field hockey game.
The contest was held at Gordon College, which has field turf, due to the field conditions at Endicott.
Parker turned away 12 of the 13 shots she faced in the first half and the Pilgrims scored twice in that span to improve to 9-4 (4-1 CCC). The Gulls fell to 8-4 overall and 1-2 in the CCC.
Endicott sophomore Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville Regional) opened the scoring 4:49 into the game with her team-leading 10th goal of the season but NEC got on the board with 23:51 to play in the first on a Jessica Hanson (Readfield, ME) tally and Amanda Lester (Columbia, CT) recorded the game-winner with 38 seconds to play in the first half.
Gulls' junior goaltender Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) made 10 stops while Lindsay Fallon (Southampton, MA/Ashland) put six shots on Parker.
Endicott hosts Gordon College Tuesday (4 pm).
