Beverly, MA -- Endicott College Athletic Director Larry Hiser announced the hiring of head field hockey coach Breanne Wojnarowicz Thursday morning. Wojnarowicz takes over after serving as the Endicott assistant coach for field hockey and women's lacrosse during the 2004-2005 seasons.

Wojnarowicz was also a standout Division I college field hockey player. A 2001 graduate from Providence College where she was a team captain, Wojnarowicz earned second team Northeast Region All-American honors. She was also a two-time Big East first team selection, garnered Big East All-Rookie team honors and was a four-year Big East Academic All-Star. Wojnarowicz was a finalist in 2001 for the Rhode Island Female Athlete of the Year and was awarded with the Providence College Female Athlete of the Year Award.

Prior to Endicott, Wojnarowicz served as an assistant field hockey coach at Division I Boston College. She has also coached numerous camps and elite clubs. Over the past few winters Wojnarowicz served as a head coach for the United States Field Hockey Associations' Futures Development Program. Many of the high school student athletes Wojnarowicz coached have gone on to play in college.

"I'm very excited to be a part of the Endicott community, which is so supportive of athletics and all student activities," stated Wojnarowicz. "Having assisted for a year, I know what this team is capable of and I can't wait to get started."

Wojnarowicz takes over a Gulls' program that has been selected to the ECAC Tournament the past three years and has played in the CCC Tournament final game the past four years.

"Breanne did a great job for us as an intern," said Hiser. "Her professionalism and enthusiasm really came out in her interview. She's ready to be a head coach."

Wojnarowicz will also serve as the assistant women's lacrosse coach and assistant to the athletic director. She officially joins the Endicott staff on August 1, 2005.
