BEVERLY, MA -- Sophomore Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville Regional) scored once in each half to propel Endicott College past Framingham State, 2-0, Thursday at Endicott College.
The hosts peppered Framingham goalie Lindsay McKearney (North Attleboro, MA/North Attleboro) with 24 shots. McKearney made 20 stops in the game, but Rheaume broke through 17:39 into the first half and finished the scoring with 31:54 remaining in the game.
Rheaume now has four goals (8 points) in four games for the Gulls, who won their third straight game in improving to 3-1 this season. Senior captain Ashley Wallace (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) handed out the lone assist in the game, giving her four points this season.
Freshman defender Samantha Bourgeois (Gardner, MA/Gardner) anchored a defense that did not allow the Rams (0-1) to record a shot on junior goalkeeper Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) in the second half. Curry turned away three shots to earn the shutout.
Endicott hosts Anna Maria College Saturday (11:00 A.M.) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference season opener.
