HENNIKER, NH - Endicott College gave top-seeded New England College all it could handle and then some in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament semifinals. In the end, however, Amanda Lester's (Columbia, CT) overtime goal put the Pilgrims into the CCC final with 2-1 victory over the fourth-seeded Gulls Wednesday.
Jodie Dresser (Keene, NH) opened the scoring in the first half before Endicott junior goaltender Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) took over the game. She made 12 saves in all, including four in the extra session to give the Gulls a shot at advancing to their fifth consecutive CCC final.
Curry had 10 shutouts this year and was among the NCAA Division III goaltenders in save percentage and goals against average.
Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville Regional) forced the overtime when she scored her 13th goal of the season with 21:37 left in regulation.
Senior Ashley Wallace (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) put together another solid performance in her last collegiate contest. Wallace was a four-year starter for Endicott and had been to CCC finals in each of first three seasons. She is the lone EC senior.
