Beverly, MA - The Gulls beat Regis College 3-1 in the CCC semi-final match here at home on Tupper field.
Within seconds, Regis had a chance to take a 1-0 lead on a penalty stroke. EC senior captain Kelly McNamara (GK/Reading, MA) made the save for the Gulls.
EC got the scoring started early with Ashley Dodge (So/Athol, MA) assisting Kim Doody's (Jr/Laconia, NH) first points of the game at 26:04. Their second goal of the half came with 9:24 minutes remaining when Caitlin Murray (Fr/Templeton, MA) crossed the ball for junior captain Jen McCormack (F/Milton, MA) to tap in. With a 2-0 lead, the Gulls looked poised for a shutout until Pride forward Melissa O'Donnell managed to get one by McNamara on an assist from Kimberly Luciani. It was to be their only goal of the game.
With the second half underway, and the score tight at 2-1, the Gulls turned it on. Gulls defense led by juniors Ali Beaulieu (Augusta, ME) and Jen Carney (Wenham, MA) kept the Pride out of the circle and defended against six penalty corners. Freshman goalkeeper Erin Curry played the second 35:00 minutes for the Gulls and did not allow a goal.
Freshman forward Lindsay Fallon (South Hampton, NY) scored her first collegiate goal with 6:59 minutes to go. She slammed in a well-placed shot on a strong cross from Kim Doody. Doody finished the day with a team-high 3 points.
Time ran out for the Pride as the Endicott Gulls picked up their 13th win of the season. They will face the winner of Gordon vs NEC on Saturday at 1:00 pm home at Tupper field. Gordon and NEC will play their semi-final match tomorrow at NEC at 2pm.
