Beverly, MA - The EC Gulls took the field against the Lady Monk's of St. Joseph's College today at home in Beverly, MA.
EC senior captains Kara Fournier (M/Bow, NH) and Kelly McNamara (GK/Reading, MA) each played a key role in today's 3-1 victory to celebrate their Senior Day. Fournier had 6 shots against the Monk's, to score the Gulls third goal of the match. McNamara came up with 6 saves in goal on just 7 shots by St. Joe's.
The Gulls had a 2-0 lead at halftime, getting their first at 15:25 when Caitlin Murray (Fr/Templeton, MA) scored off of an assist from Ashley Wallace (So/Hudson, NY). Lindsay Fallon (Fr/South Hampton, NY) picked up her first collegiate point with the assist on EC's second goal of the day tapped in by Ashley Dodge (So/Athol, MA) with 8:59 minutes to go in the first half.
Senior captain Fournier made it 3-0, scoring unassisted as the second half wound down with 13:41 minutes to go.
St Joe's Kaitlyn Scott put her team on the board with less than three minutes remaining in the game.
Every EC player had a hand in today's win as each member of the roster took a turn on the field for the Gulls. This total team effort resulted in their 12th win of the season improving their overall record to 12-6.
The Gulls are seeded 1st in the CCC with a conference record of 6-1, receiving a first-round bye. CCC tournament play gets underway next week. The Gulls will play Keene State as their final non-conference match on Wednesday night, October 29 at 6:30 pm away in Keene, NH. Their first tournament game will be played at home on the following Wednesday, November 5, at home on Tupper field.
