Fitchburg, MA - Endicott field hockey travelled to Fitchburg State today to face the Falcons in a non-conference match-up.

In first half play, Endicott kept the ball in their attacking end for all but 5 minutes. Fitchburg capitalized on one of their only possesions and found the back of the cage for their first and only goal of the contest with 12:59 remaining on the clock. Minutes later, sophomore Ashley Dodge (Athol, MA) got her stick on a pass from Melissa Durrant (Pembroke, Bermuda) to score the tying goal for Endicott. Senior captain Kelly McNamara (Reading, MA) made 7 saves in goal.

Tied going into the second half, EC defended against 13 penalty corners. Erin Curry (East Hampstead, NH) made 8 saves for the Gulls, while EC defenders Ali Beaulieu (Augusta, ME) and Jen Carney (Wenham, MA) each recorded a defensive save. Durrant played a key role in consistently backing up the forward line to keep the ball in scoring range for the Gulls. EC's game winner came off of Kim Doody's (Laconia, NH) stick as she tapped in a hit from senior captain Kara Fournier (Bow, NH) in the circle with just 2:45 remaining in regulation play. Endicott offense out shot their opponent in both halves.

Endicott field hockey plays their next game at home in a conference match against Anna Maria College on Saturday at 11:00 am. With today's win, Endicott improves their record to 8-4. The Gulls are tied for first place in CCC action with a conference record of 3-1.
