Endicott went 1-1 in today's tri-match at Brandeis. After falling to Brandeis 1-3 in the first match of the day, the Gulls rebounded to defeat Clark 3-0. This is the fourth year these teams have played this tri-match and it is the first time Endicott has taken a game from Brandeis.
Endicott showed progress against always-tough opponent Brandeis as they fought for every point with a strong defensive effort. Three players had 20+ digs in the four-game match, led by Libero Katie Lorinovich's 27. Outside hitters Patty Mikan and Killeen Ross combined for 46 digs and 28 kills. Krystan Sylva ran a balanced offense compiling 38 assists.
Freshman Sara Moore made her college debut against Brandeis and rose to the challenges of collegiate volleyball with seven total blocks against Clark. Aiding Moore's defensive effort was Killeen Ross with 18 digs. All twelve players saw court time in this match, which was led offensively by Susan Teta with seven kills, six aces, and one block.
The Gulls return to action next Thursday, September 18, when they travel to Stonehill College for a 7:00 PM Match. Endicott kicks off conference play on September 20 when they host Eastern Nazarene (11:00 AM) and University of New England (3:00 PM).
