Endicott defeated York College in the first round of the NECVA Championships in Buffalo, NY 3-0 (30-21, 30-22, 30-25). With the win, the men set a new school record for wins in a season with 19. This is the third consecutive year that the Gulls have made it to the NECVA championships. Last year, Endicott advanced to the quarterfinals as well.
The Gulls were led by Jeremy Fontaine and Eddie Marchand, combining for 29 kills and five aces. Defensively, Craig Steszewski stopped nine of the York kill attempts while Russ Friedland blocked two solo and had four assist blocks.
Endicott advances to the quarterfinals where they face the \#4 seed, Hunter College, who had a bye in the first round. The match is scheduled for Saturday, April 3 at noon at D'Youville College.
