The Gulls finished this weekend with a 2-2 record and placed forth at the Springfield Invitational.
The Gulls opened the tournament with a 3-0 win over CCC rival Roger Williams. In the match, the team set a new school record for kills in a three game match with 44 and Patty Mikan tied the school three game match record with 19. Morgan Tranqist also played well chipping in 7 kills and 8 aces in the match.
In the second match, Endicott defeated MCLA 3-0. In another strong offensive performance, the Gulls had 45 kills to break the record they had set in the previous match. The offense was distributed evenly. Killeen Ross led the team with 10 kills while Patty Mikan, Susan Teta and Morgan Tranquist combined for 25 more.
On Saturday, they lost both matches 0-3 to two very tough opponents. In thier morning match against Springfield, the team played a strong defensive game but could not get the offense on track. Then in their forth match of the weekend, the Gulls dropped another tough one to Rutgers-Newark.
The Gulls will return to action this Wednesday at 7:30 PM when they will host Bowdoin College in the first meeting between these volleyball programs. The Gulls will then travel to Brandeis on Saturday for a trimatch with Clark
