Gulls start pursuit of fourth straight championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - For the second year in a row, the Endicott women's lacrosse team went undefeated in The Commonwealth Coast Conference play at 9-0 and will enter the upcoming TCCC tournament as the top seed in the field. Endicott (12-4 overall) begins tournament play with a quarterfinal matchup against \#8 seed Colby-Sawyer (3-10 overall, 2-7 TCCC) Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in pursuit of the program's fourth consecutive TCCC Championship.

Earlier this season, the Gulls earned their first shutout of the season over the Chargers, 16-0, on April 14th as Molly Sowles (Cumberland, Maine) led Endicott with a pair of goals and three assists.

Three other quarterfinal games are slated for Tuesday, including \#2 seed Roger Williams (13-2, 8-1) hosting \#7 seed University of New England (4-12, 3-6) at 4:30 p.m., \#3 seed Western New England (10-6, 7-2) hosting \#6 seed Curry (10-7, 4-5) at 4:00 p.m. and \#4 seed Gordon (6-7, 6-3) hosting \#5 seed New England College (9-7, 5-4) at 4:00 p.m.

The quarterfinal games hosted by Endicott, Roger Williams and Western New England will be played as part of men's and women's doubleheaders.

Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round on Thursday, April 30.

Tournament action culminates with the championship game on Saturday, May 2. The TCCC tournament champion will earn an automatic berth in the upcoming 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.
