BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College women's lacrosse team posted its first shutout since April 2, 2008 as the Gulls blanked Colby-Sawyer College, 16-0, on Tuesday afternoon in Beverly, Mass. The win keeps Endicott unbeaten in TCCC play at 7-0 and 10-2 overall, while the Chargers fall to 2-8 and 1-7 in league action.

Endicott scored 12 goals in the opening half, including four in a four minute span. Molly Sowles (Cumberland, Maine) helped facilitate the early offensive charge as she assisted on the game's first two goals. She then got her name in the goals column as she grabbed control during a broken clear attempt by CSC and beat junior goalie Alicia Foss (Greensboro, Vt.). Endicott's Valerie Feldman (Albany, N.Y.) was also instrumental in the opening half, scoring four goals to send EC into the break leading by a dozen.

The second half was much of the same as the Gulls controlled the tempo all afternoon. Michelle Loizzo (Longmeadow, Mass.) took a feed from Sowles off a free-position opportunity and buried a shot to put the Gulls up 13. Kate Colley (Wells, Maine) then converted a Morgan DeShaw (Danville, N.H.) pass from behind the net for an easy lay-up. Kristen Micho (Syracuse, N.Y.) closed out the game with a pair of tallies, one off a free-position and the second assisted by Kendahl Light (South Hero, Vt.), to round out the scoring.

Endicott used a pair of netminders to earn the shutout as Molly Hamel (North Yarmouth, Maine) and Leah Neff (South Berwick, Maine) combined for the goose egg. Neff was the busier of the two as she made six saves in the second half. Colby-Sawyer's Alicia Foss stopped 12 Endicott shots in the setback.

The Blue and Green held a 34-11 shots advantage and scooped up 24 more ground balls than the Chargers. The Gulls also doubled-up Colby-Sawyer in draw controls, as Endicott grabbed 12 compared to CSC's six.

Endicott looks to defend its nine game winning streak on Thursday when the Gulls travel to Medford, Mass. to meet the Jumbos of Tufts University. Colby-Sawyer hopes to rebound with Nichols College on Saturday in Dudley, Mass.
