Women's Basketball Locks Up Salve Regina, 74-52

NEWPORT, R.I. — The Endicott women's basketball team defeated Salve Regina, 74-52, on Saturday afternoon in conference action at the Rodgers Recreation Center.

Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn.) guided the Gulls with a game-high 26 points (12-24 FG | 2-4 FT) alongside eight rebounds and two assists.  

Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) and Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) also reached double figures by recording 14 and 13 points, respectively. 

Meanwhile, Libby Fleming (Bangor, Manie) chipped in with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-3 3 PT) off the bench. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Endicott has won four out of its last five versus Salve Regina.
  • Today's matchup only featured one tie — 9:12, first quarter, 2-2 — and zero lead changes.  
  • Endicott's bench contributed 19 points to the victory.
  • The Gulls' largest lead of the contest was 22 points.  
  • Defensively Endicott held the Seahawks to their fourth-lowest point total and field goal percentage (30%) on the season.

Endicott (14-8, 11-4 CCC) hosts Wentworth on Monday, February 14 at 5:30 PM. Salve Regina (9-11, 8-6 CCC) travels to Curry on Monday at 5 PM.
