Women’s Basketball Stifles Curry, 84-40

BEVERLY, Mass. –  The Endicott women's basketball team defeated Curry, 84-40, on Tuesday evening in conference action at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Tara Laugeni (Woodbridge, Conn.) led the way for the Gulls with a game-high 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-2 FT) alongside seven rebounds and two assists. 

Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) and Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) also chipped in with 12 and nine points, respectively.

Meanwhile, Katelyn Konareski (Milford, Conn.) posted a career-high eight points (3-6 FG, 2-4 3PT) and Jarni Hewins (Fayette, Maine) registered her first collegiate basket to round out the list of individual highlights. 

Endicott led wire-to-wire in the contest as the Gulls started the game on a 12-0 run, mainly through Laugeni (7) and Dempsey (4), and never looked back.

The Gulls led 42-23 at halftime and led by as many as 44 points. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott leads the all-time series against Curry, 36-8.
  • The Gulls allowed a season-low 40 points tonight.
  • Endicott saw eight different student-athletes come off the bench and find their way into the scoring column (40-8 bench points). 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (13-8, 10-4 CCC) travels to Salve Regina on Saturday, February 12 at 1:00 PM. Curry (3-17, 0-13 CCC) visits Gordon on Thursday, February 10 at 5:30 PM.
