BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott softball team split its conference doubleheader against Roger Williams (5-3, 0-6) on Friday evening.

GAME ONE: Endicott 5, Roger Williams 3

SV (2): Analise Grady (Reading, Mass.) — 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K

The Gulls slugged their way to victory in game one, as Christina Nowicki (Chelsea, Mass.) and Abby McClaflin (Easthampton, Mass.) highlighted the action with back-to-back homers in the second inning.

Trailing 2-0 in the frame, Dani Lear (Groveland, Mass.) sparked the offense with a sacrifice fly to left field.

Nowicki and McClaflin followed with a two-run shot and a solo homer to double up the Hawks on the scoreboard. Both round-trippers came with two outs in the inning.

From there, both teams traded solo runs in the sixth before Grady secured the save on a lineout with the go-ahead run at the plate.

Ella Tower (Windham, N.H.) drove in the all-important insurance run in the sixth with a pinch-hit line drive double to right center, scoring Paige Berdos (Plainville, Mass.)

Berdos worked a leadoff walk, and Mia Mitchell (Medford, Mass.) executed a perfect sacrifice bunt (5-3) to put Berdos into scoring position for Tower with one out in the frame.

GAME TWO: Roger Williams 6, Endicott 0

WP (6-2): Keira Quadros (East Providence, R.I.) — 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K
