AUBURNDALE, Fla. — The Endicott softball team dropped a game against Amherst (1-0) but bounced back with a big win over Keene State (8-0, 5 Inn.) on Monday afternoon in the 2025 Spring Games Tournament.
GAME ONE: AMHERST 1, Endicott 0
WP (1-0): Abby Rebhan (McLean, Va.) — 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K
LP (0-1): Analise Grady (Reading, Mass.) — 6.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
In a lights-out pitching duel, it was the Mammoths who were able to scratch across the game's only run in the second inning.
The Gulls had a few good scoring chances, the best of which came after Mia Mitchell's (Medford, Mass.) one-out double in the seventh inning, but were ultimately unable to knot up the score.
Grady went six strong innings against a talented Mammoths lineup, her first six-inning start since her seven-inning complete game against Wellesley on April 17, 2024.
GAME TWO: ENDICOTT 8, KEENE STATE 0 (5 INN.)
WP (2-0): Kristen Beebe (Brentwood, N.H.) — 5.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 K
LP (0-2): Lilah Demmy (Wayne, Pa.) — 4.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
Beebe got the ball for game two and was untouchable against the Owls. She tossed the first Endicott no-hitter since Maria Hanchuk '23 (South Windsor, Conn.) on April 10, 2022.
Additionally, the Gulls' offense came to life and scored eight runs in the contest.
Kylyn McLaren (Rochester, N.H.) opened the flood gates with a two-out, bases clearing double in the bottom of the second to give the Gulls an early 3-0 lead.
They tacked on another two runs in the third. Abby McClaflin (Easthampton, Mass.) led things off with a triple, Elyse Saccoccio (Coventry, R.I.) walked and stole second, and then Caitlyn Romero (Southport, Conn.) brought them both in with a two-run single up the middle.
Beebe continued to shove from the circle, and in the bottom of the fifth, the Gulls were able to reach the eight-run mercy-rule limit to walk-off with the victory. Romero, Mitchell, and Ella Tower (Windham, N.H.) each picked up base-hits in the eventful bottom of the fifth inning.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Through 8.2 IP this season, Beebe is yet to allow a run.
- Romero went 2-for-2 and reached base three times (two singles, walk) in game two.
- Tower and McClaflin also each picked up two hits in their game two start (first career multi-hit game for McClaflin).
- The Gulls are 4-3 all-time against the Mammoths and 3-3 all-time against Keene State.
