After a close six innings, the Gulls rallied for three runs in their last at-bat in the seventh to record a 7-4 victory in game one of Sunday's doubleheader.
The Sea Hawks got on the board first in the bottom of the first but Endicott responded with three runs in the top of the second to take a 3-2 lead. Olivia Odermatt (Cheshire, Conn.) hit a sacrifice fly to send one run in and then Lindsee Allienello (East Providence, R.I.) ripped a triple to right field to send two of her teammates home.
Salve Regina tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the second and then took a 4-3 lead in the third inning.
Once again, Endicott responded well and tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth inning.
The Gulls then saw three runs in the seventh, highlighted by triples from both Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Odermatt to give them the 7-4 edge.
Mikaela Mallozzi (Shelton, Conn.) was credited with the win and improved to 2-0 on the season. Maggie Oram (Lexington, Mass.) finished out the game to earn her second save of the year.
GAME TWO: Endicott 3, Salve Regina 2 (Eight Innings)
Salve Regina jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first innings. Francesca Galeazzi (Lynn, Mass.) got on base with a bunt and then rounded to home on a triple by Elizabeth Lombardo (Thomaston, Conn.).
Endicott responded with two runs in the top of the second to take a 2-1 lead. Hayley Arduini (Southington, Conn.) singled up the middle to get on base. Peyton Atkins (Goshen, N.Y.) doubled to left center to advance Arduini to third and then Allienello hit a double to center to send both Arduini and Atkins home.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Sea Hawks tied the game at 2-2 when Jaycee Garrigan (Uxbridge, Mass.) ripped a triple to right field and scored on a double from Kristen Hickey (New Hyde Park, N.Y.).
The game remained tied through seven innings of play so an extra inning was needed. Endicott was able to tally a run in the top of the eight and then hold off the Sea Hawks to secure the 3-2 victory.
Oram pitched the entire game to earn the win. She allowed eight hits and two runs while striking out three batters.
