Men’s Tennis Improves to 2-0 in CCC with Triumph over Wentworth

BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team traveled to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent, Wentworth on Saturday afternoon. The Gulls swept the Leopards in doubles play while they wrapped up with three victories in singles play to secure the 6-3 decision. Endicott improves to 4-5 (2-0 CCC) as they head into Monday, April 7th as they host their first game of the season against CCC opponent Eastern Nazarene at 3:30 p.m. at the South Campus Courts.

In doubles play in the #3 slot, junior Timothy Forance (Natick, Mass.) and partner, junior Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) took the first victory as they defeated their opponents 8-2. Junior Michael Lauretano (Winchester, Mass.) and rookie Sean McAndrews (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) took their counterparts 8-3 in the #2 slot while senior Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass.) and partner, sophomore Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) wrapped up doubles play with an 8-5 decision in the #1 spot.

In singles play (#5) McAndrews finished first as he went 6-1, 6-2 for the win. To secure the triumph with the fifth win of the day, junior Justin Warshavsky (East Hartford, Conn.) took his opponent 6-4, 6-0 in the #6 position. Earning the final victory of the day was Ross who battled in the first set and controlled the second set in his 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 decision.
