Men’s Tennis Falls to Division II Regional Powerhouse, Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team traveled to Bentley on Thursday afternoon for a non-conference matchup. The Falcons entered the match ranked the #8 team in DII men's tennis in the East Region, posted by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Gulls fall to 3-5 (1-0 CCC) while the Falcons improve to 9-5 (7-0 NE-10).

In doubles play (#1) Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass.) and sophomore Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) played the toughest match of the afternoon falling to their opponents 8-4. In the #2 doubles slot junior Timothy Forance (Natick, Mass.) and partner junior Eric Grandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) fell to a 8-3 decision while rookie Sean McAndrews (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) and junior Justin Warshavsky (East Hartford, Conn.) fell 8-1.

In singles play McAndrews fought his opponent in the #4 slot to three sets before falling 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 10-5. (#2) Forance also played a strong first set but struggled in the second losing the 7-5, 6-0 decision. (#3) Dolph was edged 6-4, 6-2 while (#1) Ross (6-0, 6-0), (#5) Warshavky (6-1, 6-0) and (#6) junior Jason Tarpey (Burlington, Vt.) also lost both sets.

The Blue and Green fought hard and pushed themselves against their Division II opponent to prepare for their upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schedule as they host their first game of the season on Monday, April 7th at 3:30 p.m. against Eastern Nazarene on the South Campus Courts.
