Gulls Take Gordon in First CCC Match of 2014

WENHAM, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team entered Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play this afternoon as they traveled across town to face Gordon in their second straight North Shore Cup matchup in just five days. Junior Timothy Forance (Natick, Mass.) came up clutch in singles play as he earned the fifth victory of the day to secure the 5-4 decision over the Fighting Scots. Endicott improves to 3-4 (1-0 CCC) while the Scots fall to 3-7 (0-1 CCC).

In doubles play the Blue and Green earned two victories entering singles play on top 2-1. (#3) Forance and partner, junior Eric Gandrup earned a solid 8-2 decision as they finished first. In the #1 slot, senior Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass.) and sophomore Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) posted a tough 5-8 loss to their opponents. Junior Michael Lauretano (Winchester, Mass.) and rookie Sean McAndrews (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) came out with the 8-4 decision to finish up doubles play.

To start off singles play (#5) McAndrews earned the first victory (6-1, 6-1) followed by a 6-1, 6-0 win for junior Justin Warshavsky (East Harford, Conn.) in the #6 slot. With the match on the line Forance sealed the triumph with his 6-2, 6-1 decision to secure the 5-4 score.

Endicott takes the court next on Thursday, April 3rd at 3:30 p.m. when they travel to Bentley to play their match that was rescheduled from March 21st.
