BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College men's tennis team put together a strong team outing on Saturday, as the Gulls defeated the Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards, 6-3, in Beverly, MA.

The Gulls took four of six in singles competition, as Dan Murray (Coventry, RI/Bishop Hendricken), Nemanja Marinkovic (Belgrade, Serbia/Second Baptist/Houston, TX), Marc Maloney (Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam High School) and Brian Sonneborn (Rye, NH/St Thomas Aquinas) all scored victories for the Blue and Green.

The total team outing continued into the doubles action, as the reliable tandem of Josh Schoen (Phoenix, AZ/Arcadia) and Dan Murray fell to Wentworth's Ricardo Robiglio (Puerto Ordaz, VENEZUELA/Ibero Americano) and Ryan Edwards (Stowe, VT/Peoples Academy), 8-5. As one doubles team fell, two arose, as the Gulls Scott Teller (Granville, NY/Granville Junior/Senior High School) and Nemanja Marinkovic earned a hard-fought 8-5 win, while Sonneborn and Maloney took their duel, 9-8.

With the win, Endicott opens their 2007 Commonwealth Coast Conference schedule with a 6-3 victory over No. 4 preseason ranked Wentworth. The Gulls look to make it three wins in a row on Monday, as Endicott travels to the University of Southern Maine for a 3:30 PM match with the Huskies.
