The Endicott College men's soccer team has been ranked 9th in New England for Division III Colleges by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) in this weeks poll. This marks EC's first entry into the New England top ten.
Endicott is ranked higher than any other member of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). This past week the Gulls defeated CCC members Curry College, 5-0, and tied Roger Williams University, 1-1.
In six games this season, the team has outscored their opponents 17-4, including two shutouts. They are currently 4-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in CCC competition. "I am proud of the team's success this year," Head Coach Stefano Franciosa said. "With strong leadership and the drive to succeed, the team will try to continue the season in a positive fashion." Coach Franciosa attributes the early season accomplishments to their team's unity and the players' commitment to the program.
Topping the New England regional ranking is Bowdoin College of Maine. Other Massachusetts colleges in the top ten include: Williams (\#2), MIT (\#3), Wheaton (\#5), and Amherst (\#8).
Endicott faces CCC member, Colby-Sawyer College, tomorrow afternoon at 3 PM in New Hampshire.
