Springfield, Mass. - Junior short-stick specialist Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, Conn.) set the tone for Endicott's 17-5 win over University of New England in the TCCC Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinals with strong face off play that helped the Gulls control possession and run their offensive attack.

It was the second time this season that Ozycz won TCCC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Ozycz, who on the season wins 65.9% of his face off opportunities, improved that number by converting 16-of-21 attempts into successful Endicott possessions.  The junior scooped a game-high 13 ground balls and helped the Gulls defense limit the Nor'easters to just five goals on 14 shots on goal.

Ozycz also added two goals and an assist giving him a total of 13 points (nine goals, four assists) on the season.

The Blue and Green (13-4) continue their quest for back-to-back conference championships on Wednesday, May 4th with a semifinal match up against the \#3 seed Gordon College (9-7).  The game begins at 4:00 pm at Endicott Stadium.
