Endicott goalie selected as ECAC Defensive Player of the Week
Centerville, Mass. – Sophomore goalie Mike Klein (Darien, Conn.) has been named this week’s Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Gulls to a 2-1 week, including a 9-8 triumph over top-ranked Tufts early in the week.

For Klein, it is the first ECAC weekly honor of his career which came a day after his first The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Defensive Player of the Week nod.

Against the then \#1 ranked Tufts, Klein posted 14 saves as the Gulls upset the Jumbos 9-8 at Endicott Stadium. Two days later, the Blue and Green suffered a tough loss on the road to Bowdoin 13-12 but Klein was solid with an eight save effort. When Endicott returned to their conference schedule against North Shore rival Gordon, the sophomore was nearly unbeatable allowing only four goals while making 18 saves in a 13-4 win. The win kept Endicott undefeated in league play at 8-0.

Endicott, with their 11-3 overall record and key wins over Tufts, Springfield and Williams, moved up to the \#16 ranking in the country.

Klein and his Gulls teammates will return to the field on Wednesday, April 20th for a road game against TCCC opponent Roger Williams starting at 4:00 pm.
