Taylor Yates Earns CNE Men’s Basketball Elite 20 Award

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott graduate student Taylor Yates '24 M'25 (Saint Albans, Vt.) has been named the Conference of New England (CNE) Men's Basketball Elite 20 Award recipient.

The Elite 20 Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a qualifying team in each CNE Championship.

Yates posted a 3.95 GPA as an undergraduate, earning his Bachelor of Science in accounting and sport management. He is currently pursuing his MBA. 

This is the first year the CNE has doled out the award.

In the fall, men's soccer junior midfielder Jason Ferrandino (Upton, Mass.) and football junior offensive lineman Danny Gangi (Middleton, Mass.) won Elite 20 Award for their respective sports

AWARD CRITERIA

  • Must be at least a sophomore academically, in good academic standing and in their second year of competition at their current institution in any sport.
  • Must be an active member on the roster and eligible for the Championships or Tournament.
  • Only undergraduate GPA is applicable. Only undergraduate credits earned at their current institution will be considered.
  • Graduate transfers in their first year of competition at their current institution are not eligible.
  • If a student-athlete has graduated from and is currently enrolled in graduate school at the same institution, they are eligible for the award but consideration will be based solely on an undergraduate GPA.
