Gulls Close Out Regular Season with Win

BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College field hockey team wrapped up its regular season schedule with a 4-0 win over Fitchburg State College Thursday afternoon in Beverly.

The Gulls jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville) scored on a pass from Ashley Meunier (Hartland, VT/Kimball Union) less then two minutes into the game to give EC a 1-0 lead.

Endicott would add two more goals in the first half. Michelle Berard (Ashland, MA/Ashland) scored two and half minutes later at the 4:23 mark when she knocked in a pass from Lyndsay Woods (York, ME/York). Lindsay Fallon (Southampton, NY/Southampton) gave the Gulls a commanding 3-0 lead midway through the first period when she redirected a ball from Caitlin Murray (Templeton, MA/Gardner) past Falcons goalkeeper Emily Creen.

Thursday marked the final regular season home game for seniors Fallon, Murray, Woods, Katie DeFeo (York, ME/York) and goalkeeper Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy). Coach Breanne Wojnarowicz honored the Gulls' five seniors in a brief pre-game ceremony, thanking them for their hard work and dedication.

The Gulls finished their regular season campaign with an overall record of 13-4 and posted a 6-1 record in the CCC. Endicott has secured the second seed in the upcoming CCC tournament and earned a first round bye. The Gulls will next host the CCC Semifinals on Wednesday, November 1 at a time to be determined.
