Henniker, NH - The New England College field hockey team defeated the Endicott College Gulls 4-1 in a re-match of last years CCC field hockey semi-final game. The win was the eight straight for the Pilgrims.

The first half was evenly matched as junior Amanda Lester (Columbia, CT) got things started early for the Pilgrims scoring only three minutes into the game with an assist from freshman Ashley Simula (Bridgewater, NH).

The Gulls answered back at 12:23 when junior Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville) tied the game at 1-1. Rheaume's goal was assisted by Jennifer Beech (Devonshire, Bermuda/Saltas Grammar). The Pilgrims netted one more in the first half when Lester found Brittney Vogrin (Toronto, Ontario) who scored at 20:05.

The Pilgrims pulled away in the second half out shooting the Gulls 10-4. Lester scored twice in the second half to pick up the hat trick, giving NEC the 4-1 victory.

NEC's Jamie Johnson (Lynnfield, MA) had five saves in the victory, while EC goalie Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) had eight saves for the Gulls.

The Pilgrims improve to 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the CCC, while Endicott falls to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. The Gulls return home on Monday to take on Salem State at 4:00 pm.
