COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT® RELEASE
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott baseball junior outfielder Joseph Millar (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.) has received CoSIDA Academic All-District® First Team honors, as announced by the organization.
Millar will now appear on the national ballot for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® team, which will be voted on by Sports Information Directors (SIDs) across the country in mid-July.
Millar is the fourth student-athlete in program history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District® honors joining Kevin Gould '19 M'20 (Rollinsford, N.H.), Michael DeDonato '17 M'18 (Chelmsford, Mass.), and Colin Sitarz '12 M'13 (West Hartford, Conn.) on the list.
Academically, Millar currently sports a 3.82 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as a sport management major, with a minor in business administration.
He also is a two-time Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference selection, a multiple Dean's List honoree, and a member of the Phi Epsilon Kappa honor society.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Millar has interned with the Parisi Speed School and the Sussex County Miners.
At the Parisi Speed School, Millar developed marketing strategies, managed social media accounts, handled facility management duties, and completed several sales. Millar experienced similar internship responsibilities with the Sussex County Miners including developing business partnerships, finalizing sales deals, and working in promotions.
Millar has since then cultivated those experiential learning opportunities into a senior partner position with the start-up company Fat Brother Soap. Millar is responsible for sales, the design and management of its online store, creating weekly advertisements, managing the company's five social media accounts, and monitoring the supply chain/inventory.
Millar also has given plenty of his time back to the community by volunteering at Thanksgiving Food Drives, the Pete Frates 5k, and Team IMPACT.
Athletically, Millar earned D3baseball.com All-New England Third Team and All-CCC Second Team accolades this past season after posting a .407/.541/.759. (.avg/.obp/.slg) slash line in 18 games played (16 starts).
Millar collected 22 hits – six doubles, two triples, three home runs – in those contests to go along with 24 runs scored, 17 RBI, a 7-for-7 showing in stolen base attempts, and a perfect fielding percentage on 21 put outs (all starts in right field).
