BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott baseball team fell to Saint Joseph's (Me.), 1-0, on Wednesday evening at North Field.
Matt Bergeron (Salem, N.H.) earned the win for The Monks via 6 2/3 innings pitched, two hits, no earned runs, and one strikeout.
Saint Joseph's earned its lone run in the top of the fifth inning after Hunter Richardson (North Monmouth, Maine) hit a sacrifice fly to center plating Jackson Stanton (Saugus, Mass.).
For Endicott, John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) went 2-4 at the plate with a double.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This was the 29th all-time meeting between the two sides.
- The Gulls had the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning but could not secure a run.
- Endicott pitchers combined for nine strikeouts.
