BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team will play Wilkes University (20-2, 5-0 MAC Freedom) in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament this Friday on the campus of Williams College (Williamstown, Mass.) at 2 p.m.

The winner between Endicott and Wilkes will then take on No. 2 nationally ranked Williams College in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, May 14, at 2 p.m. The Ephs are the defending NCAA champions, and have also won seven out of the last eight NCAA titles.

Endicott enters this weekend's NCAA Tournament as the five-time defending Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament champion. The Gulls (14-4, 8-0 CCC) defeated Roger Williams, 5-3, in the CCC title match on October 10, 2015 to claim the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight year. During their current five-year run, the Blue and Green have compiled a 78-23 (.772) overall record and a 37-3 (.925) mark in conference play.

Meanwhile, Wilkes also brings an impressive streak into the NCAA Tournament this Friday as the Colonels have won the last 10 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom league titles in a row. During that 10-year span, Wilkes has posted 15 or more wins in each season, and amassed an 180-24 (.882) overall record.

Wilkes captured the conference's 2015-16 automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament last Saturday as the Colonels defeated Misericordia University, 5-0, in the MAC Freedom championship. The victory for Wilkes also established a new program record for wins in a season (20) surpassing the old mark of 19, which had been accomplished in three straight seasons from 2011-12 to 2013-14.
