SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Endicott freshman Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Rookie of the Week by the league office.

Barnett went 4-0 between No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles play last week in wins over Gordon (5-4) and Wentworth (6-0) to help the Gulls clinch the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament.

In Endicott's match against Gordon, Barnett and doubles teammate Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine) claimed an 8-4 comeback victory over Gordon's No. 1 pairing of Justine Hanson and Katherine Jeffreys after trailing by a 4-3 score at one point during the match. Barnett then went on to capture a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles to aid Endicott in defeating the Fighting Scots in a match that featured a pair of undefeated CCC teams at the time.

This coming Thursday, Endicott (10-2, 8-0 CCC) will play the winner of No. 5 Western New England/No. 4 Nichols at home at a time to be determined later.
