Women’s Lacrosse Handles Curry, 21-5

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated Curry, 21-5, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Thursday evening at Hempstead Stadium.

Bailey Sheehan (Pomfret, Conn.) scored once and dished six assists all in the first half to fuel Endicott's offense to a 14-3 lead at the break and the Gulls never looked back.

In total, the Gulls' offense featured 14 different goal scorers, including Sheehan.

Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Grace McAfee (Marmora, N.J.), and Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.) led the group with hat tricks.

Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.) also found the back of the net twice in the victory.

Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.), Annabelle Gray (Londonderry, Vt.), Gilly Hartt (Old Saybrook, Conn.), Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H.), Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.), Maggie Holt (Cumberland Foreside, Maine), Devin Sweeney (Burlington, Mass.), Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.), and Emily Typrowicz (Palos Verdes, Calif.) all buried solo tallies to round out the scoring. 

In goal, Payton Quirk (Nahant, Mass.) earned her first career win with six saves (first career start).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 25-3 all-time against Curry.
  • The Gulls have won 18 straight in the series dating back to 5/3/07.
  • Sheehan set new career highs for points (7) and assists (6).
  • Wendell notched her fourth career hat trick (third this season).
  • Fourth career hat-trick for Paine.
  • First career hat-trick for McAfee.

Endicott (9-7, 5-1 CCC) visits Wentworth on Wednesday, April 24 at 7 PM. Curry (5-10, 1-5 CCC) hosts Gordon this Saturday at 11 AM.
